Changing Administrator Password without knowing old Password.
Many people dont know that there exist hidden account named "administrator" in there PC. Its password is asked during XP installation and usually it is blank. One may Log in to xp with that account and change other admin accounts password as mentioned below.
::Log in into hidden account > If User Lists are displayed on Log in Screen. Hold Ctrl+Alt and press Del twice. Now you will see Login dialogue box. Enter Administrator in username and leave the password blank.
Method1.
1. My Computer[R] 2. > "Manage" > "Local Users and Groups" > "Users" > "Administrator"[R] > "Set Password" > "Proceed" 3. Type New Password 4. > "OK" > "OK" 5. Close 'Computer Management'
Method2.
1. Run> Type "NET USER". Press Enter. 2. You will see all user names and details. Choose any user say, NEWUSER whose password you want to change. 3. Type NET USER NEWUSER * Press Enter. 4. You will asked New password.
Method3.
This Method is useful if you you dont know any password.
1. Open "C:\Windows\system32". 2. Copy "cmd.exe" from system32 directory. 3. Paste it on desktop. 4. Rename it as "sethc.exe" and again copy it and paste into "system32" directory. 5. You will be asked to replace existing "sethc.exe". Click 'Yes'. Now you will be able to change password of any user without Logging in. (i.e, before Welcome screen) 6. Press [Shift] five times. You will see command prompt. 7. Follow steps as mentioned in Method 2.
